Primary Source

19-23 When his master heard his wife's story, telling him, "These are the things your slave did to me," he was furious. Joseph's master took him and threw him into the jail where the king's prisoners were locked up. But there in jail God was still with Joseph: He reached out in kindness to him; he put him on good terms with the head jailer. The head jailer put Joseph in charge of all the prisoners—he ended up managing the whole operation. The head jailer gave Joseph free rein, never even checked on him, because God was with him; whatever he did God made sure it worked out for the best.

Research can be broken into two basics categories, Primary & Secondary. Primary sources are those that actually experienced the history or record first hand while secondary is referred to as the sources that got the info from a messenger or gossip so to speak. The information came down from a second hand therefore its a secondary source. Its an amazing experience to move through these sources in our own life. What do i mean? Its a a way different impact when we "hear" that God is faithful and that He will never leave us or forsake us or that all things work together for good, than to actually be locked in a messy and smelly jail sell for something that we did not do only for God to exalt you to the second highest place in Egypt. As I travel along this journey it has been such a humbling experience walking through the Bible and experiencing things in a 'Primary Source Fashion'. Whatever situation you find yourself in today be confident and know that God is for you and who in all of creation could stand against that? He is writing your story. Be patient and obedient. Attitude and perspective is everything. I want God to be able to use me like He used Jacob. Everywhere I go and whatever I do, no matter what circumstance I find myself in, still God can use me and His Name will be glorified!
