Creative Marriage

Shelly and I are reading Ed & Lisa Young's book, Creative Marriage.  We agreed to read a number of marriage books this year as a part of our yearly covenant together. It's important to keep learning and gaining new experiences especially in marriage. There is no magical thing that happens when you get married that makes you a pro at relationships, parenting, conflict resolution, and all the things that come with a marriage.  You have to work at it like everything else. It reminds me of an oil change, it sustains the vehicle and keeps it an its A game.  Investing time and reading marriage books or going to conferences does the same and is all the more important.

I am really enjoying the read. So important to stay proactive and keep the fire burning in your marriage. I like the creative stance that Ed and Lisa take on things. It is good to keep things spontaneous & or surprise your spouse with random acts of kindness and expressions of love. After all, your marriage is the most important relationship you will have in your life. What a waste it would be to settle for anything less than continuous butterflies and giddiness for all of your days until death parts you. I would challenge anyone who believes its not possible.
